2026 Auditions

We are hosting auditions for our 2026-2027 Season!

Audition Date & Time: Saturday, May 16th, 2026 at 10:00am 

Audition Location: Athenaeum Center for Thought & Culture (Dance Chicago studios)

***Attention performers who have weekday daytime availability and who have solid comedy writing and dance/movement experience!***

Please read the notice below and follow the process to submit to audition for Comedy Dance Chicago’s 2026-2027 Season!

Comedy Dance Chicago (CDC) is a group of comedians and dancers who combine sketch comedy, physical comedy, dance, word play, and music to entertain our audiences of all ages. Our show has been described as a “super high-energy laugh riot!” and “one of the funniest, most enjoyable hours you’ll spend on a Friday night." 

What does the 2026-2027 CDC Season entail? Full show rehearsal process and other daytime and evening performances as booked/scheduled. If cast, performer will be a Comedy Dance Chicago Cast Member for up to one year.

​What roles is CDC looking to fill? We are specifically looking to add a few performers who are available for daytime school performances in Chicago and surrounding suburbs and who have solid comedy writing/performing and dance/movement backgrounds. 

Other requirements include:
-strong stage presence, comedic timing, facial expressions
-sketch writing experience
-able to quickly pick up choreography
-trained in any of the following: theater, sketch comedy, improv, circus, clowning, partner acrobatics, etc.
-trained in any of the following: modern, tap, jazz, hip hop, etc.
-comfortable interacting with audience members of all ages
-collaborative and a team player
-strong work ethic and positive attitude
-available for 2026 Rehearsal Process - Thursdays 7-9pm (May 21-July 23) and occasional Saturdays 10am-12pm (TBD)

Who should submit to audition? All skin colors, body types, gender identities, sexualities, backgrounds, personalities, senses of humor, ages (18+) are welcome to audition.

When and where are other performances? Shows are scheduled throughout the year, as we book them. The majority of shows are in Chicago, though we do have occasional shows in the suburbs and other states. Performances include CDC produced shows, school shows, festivals, short appearances, etc. Shows are cast based on performer availability and readiness.

​​​When and where are rehearsals? In general, we have weekly rehearsals every Thursday from 7-9pm at the Athenaeum Center for Thought & Culture (Dance Chicago studios).

​Pay: Both paid and unpaid rehearsals and performances

Submission Process:

STEP 1: Familiarize yourself with CDC’s style and purpose

STEP 2: Submit your headshot, resume, and pictures and/or video that highlight your dance/movement ability to ComedyDanceAuditions@gmail.com by Friday, May 8th, 2026 at 11:59pm. 

Subject line should read: “[Your Full Name] Submission” 

STEP 3: CDC will review all submissions. Due to an overwhelming response in past years, we may not be able to see everyone in person. Wait to hear if you are offered an in-person audition slot.
